Training Servant Leaders For the Great Commission in Asia

A Pastor’s Changed Heart

Jonathan (above on the right) is one of the students I mentor every week. This is a letter he wrote last week to those who are supporting him and his family during his stay at IGSL and it shows some of his personal transformation in his 1/2 of a year here. Jonathan has been great – he’s the entertainer and comedian of my small group who keeps everyone having fun.  Last week he also got an invite to hang out at Manny Pacquio’s house which was a big highlight for him. Manny doesn’t look as excited 🙂   We pray you are as encouraged as we are when you read his letter to his home church….

Dear Friends,

Words of thanks might not be enough to express how thankful we are as a family for your help. I am here at IGSL (International Graduate School of Leadership) with my wife and 3 children because you want me to grow more as a leader. Without your commitment to us maybe we were not be able to finish the first TRIMESTER. It was you who inspired us to go on in spite of our limitations. Thank you for being generous in your support of us during our training.

Coming here in IGSL is truly a great blessing, because of the learning I experienced here now. We have been taught how to focus more on discipleship and how it should be more intentional. During one of our session I really ask God silently to forgive me of not doing discipleship in my 15 years or more in the ministry before coming to IGSL. IGSL has been a doorway of change for me as a pastor. I’m really glad for what I am learning. My life’s focus or perspective has changed. I know I am a disciple of Jesus that will disciple others.

Starting last September I committed myself to help the church where I came from in the discipleship aspect of the ministry. I’m visiting twice a month.  I hope it would be a great help for them. After IGSL I hope to be of help in my denomination in the church planting department through the learning I gained in the school. However God has his plan for me and my family. Wherever He wants me to go I will follow. Thank you so much for your support and for investing in my future ministry!

       In His Service, Pastor Jonathan

We hope that encourages you!  Think of his future churches and disciples that will be discipled and equipped for maturity in Christ and fruitfulness in evangelism and discipleship.  It’s been a joy to see that transformation and be part of that – and you are just as much a part as we are!

Thanks for investing in changed lives!
