Kid Updates & Prayer Requests – Nov 2015

Now that we are more settled in a new mode of living here, our kids have started to pick up some extracurricular activities, which has been fun for them. Colin started soccer this past week and had a couple goals his first day out, which was fun – but while athletic, he’s more about the relational experience than winning. He’s a big encourager. You can pray for continued academic development as he has the most catch up to do of all our kids from our homeschool years, but he’s closed the gap significantly in three months!

We started Kaelyn on swim lessons at the school and it took all of 1 lesson for her to ditch the floaties and swim around the pool. She’s got the best work ethic of the whole family and works extremely hard at everything from swimming to coloring. And her teachers consistently tell us that they are so impressed by her ability to empathize with others and be a problem solver and peacemaker between others in her preschool class. Not sure all of what that means, but we’re proud of her!

Morgan has also begun doing more swimming with an instructor. Swimming is one of the best forms of exercise for her with cerebral palsy and she’s enjoying building strength and stamina. But her highlight right now is her class is studying ancient Greece. So her father with the Ancient History degree is enjoying that 🙂 She’s loving learning about Athenian democracy and politics – it’s fascinating watching what your kids get excited about. You can pray as she is still finding her place socially in school and dealing with the reality that she can’t do all of the athletic things many of her friends are starting to do.
Thank you all for your prayers! We are praying for you and thankful for your faithfulness to the Lord.
