Training Servant Leaders For the Great Commission in Asia

IGSL Faculty Contributes to the Asia Bible Commentary Series (Job) and How This Relates to Brian’s Role at IGSL

One of our long time faculty at IGSL and former Academic Dean, Dr. Mona Bias has been an Old Testament scholar who has contributed the commentary on the book of Job in the Asia Bible Commentary Series, which highlights exegetical, pastoral, and contextual scholarship in light of the Asian context. She explores God’s character, suffering, and faith in light of realities lived throughout Asia.

And since we are highlighting IGSL scholarship…remember – all of these people RAISE THEIR OWN SUPPORT! It’s amazing and each publication is a sacrificial labor of love. But one of the best theology books out there in the last couple of years related to the Bible and culture is my friend Steve Pardue’s book, Why Evangelical Theology Needs the Global Church. Today there are a lot of extreme views and reactions on matters of how the Bible, Christian Theology, and culture all get worked out.

It is part of my role at IGSL right now to equip Christian scholars who can contribute high level Biblical scholarship with a Great Commission vision and practice as well as support IGSL faculty in that endeavor as well. So to see some of these resources starting to go from idea to being in the hands of the Asian church is really exciting – and you are a part of that as we trust the Lord together!
