We chose a path this summer with some strong social and time boundaries, but it was fun to see a few people. It took a year but I was able to get a personalized book signing from my good friend Adrian Pei.
Adrian and I did a lot of work together in Epic, including co-writing several things and working together on some articles that still are used in CRU’s new staff training related to majority and minority dynamics in ministry. Adrian’s gone on to capture so much of that and much of his own story in the book The Minority Experience which was released last fall and has made a lot of top books lists. If you’re wanting to understand the minority experience, this is a helpful resource. He also uses CRU as a case study for both his experience and what helps organizations bridge towards flourishing multi-ethnic communities and ministries.
Another part of why we share this is that I make a few appearances in the books and one chapter (chapter 5) heavily features me and IGSL as a comparative case study. We want to share with you some of the different contributions we’re grateful to have made to some of the broader conversations in the Church and society. You can find the book here on Amazon published by InterVarsity Press.
