You’ve been praying at points over the last couple of years as we’ve shared about our work over the last couple of years to design a new curriculum that will faithfully equip leaders for ministry leadership in a variety of contexts throughout Asia. This past week we launched the first semester of the new curriculum.

If you see the graphic above, these five areas shaped our design and are guiding us as we think about every area of our curriculum, organization, and ministry here at IGSL.

• Biblically Rooted Christian Thinkers
• Maturing Disciple-Makers
• Contextually Reflective Practitioners
• Servant-Steward Leaders
• Healthy Relaters

A vision of a leader who is integrating and embodying these dimensions to his or her life with God and leadership in a particular context has captured our imagination and energized us in the work of a complete new curriculum.

This is an exciting moment as it’s a big step forward for IGSL’s academic culture as well as in how we train people for the field and mentor towards the heart.  All of these areas have their own contextual challenges in Asia – and all of these have challenges in any context! But Jesus and the Scriptures inform these areas in ways that proclaim grace and truth into the world and we’re excited for how He transforms lives through this educational journey.

Please pray for this batch as they start their studies – they are in the deep end of the pool with English learning, for many a new country and place, academic intimidation, and trying to help their families adjust to a new situation.  It’s a tough first few months for them.

Please pray that God works and molds them and slowly they begin to become what is captured in our new “ideal graduate profile” for the sake of fruitful and faithful ministry over the lifetimes.
